Career Advisors from the Federal Employment Agency learn about battery technology
14.04.2025
Around 40 study and careers advisors from various employment agencies throughout northern Bavaria visited the campus at the beginning of April to find out more about the University of Bayreuth and the courses it offers. They advise pupils on choosing a course of study and organise information events on choosing a course of study at secondary schools.
The programme consisted of presentations on the courses on offer and guided tours of the campus. In addition to the Bachelor's degree programme ‘Media Science and Practice’ and the supplementary studies offered at the University of Bayreuth, the German-language Master's degree programme ‘Battery Technology’ (Batterietechnik) was also presented. This was at the explicit request of the participants and so BayBatt member and initial programme moderator Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ralf Moos (Chair of Functional Materials) gave an insight into the importance of the topic in the context of the energy transition and the expansion of professorships as part of the Bavarian high-tech agenda. In addition to the Master's degree programmes offered in Bayreuth and the career prospects they provide, Prof. Moos also emphasised the relevance of the Bachelor's degree programmes in the natural and engineering sciences, the importance of independent learning, and the practical orientation of university studies.
In the afternoon, there were three guided tours to choose from: an insight into the new Africa Research Centre and the film studio housed there, a tour of the Ecological-Botanical Garden or the Keylab BayBatt Cell Technology Centre. Here, the participants were shown how battery production works in the laboratory by laboratory engineer Ehsan Emamjomeh.
